Concert at the Square July 5, 2008!

On Saturday July 5th Mary, James, Jess and I went to Town Square in downtown North Kansas City to listen to jazz music. The concert was from 11 to 1 PM. We arrived around noon.
The Mike and Sherri Jones-Ling Band were the performers. They were marvelous and melodious. They had two drummers, a young fellow and an older one. Mike was at the keyboard. Sherri was hostess and singer. George Robinson was one of the trumpet players and he sang some solos. Tony DiBenedetto played soprano and alto sacs.
An unusual instrument played by one of the band members was a washtub bass. Another fellow played the guitar. All the band folks were very talented.
Ted and his little dog Skipper seemed to really enjoy the jazz. Skipper looked at the band members through most of the concert. He was a very well behaved dog.
The Town Square was very beautiful with lush plants in flower beds, box planters and hanging planters. I liked the fountain also.
We plan on attending more Saturday at the Square concerts this summer.
