My trip to Utah with description!!!

I left KCI Airport Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at 2:05 PM on a Delta Airlines non-stop to SLC. It was a rainy day and the Delta Flight that was to depart at 12:35 PM non-stop to SLC was delayed due to the storm. That aircraft was diverted to Springfield, MO. The weather was clearing up by the time our 2:05 flight was taking off and the passengers for the 12:35 flight who were not assigned to other flights would be taking off after us.

When I arrived at SLC International Airport after 5 PM. Tammy, Talmadge and Mia were at the baggage claim to meet me. It was wonderful to see them and finally meet Mia. From the airport we went to The Gateway Mall in down town SLC. It is an outdoor mall. We ate at a nice Mexican Restaurant where Shane and Natalie met us. It was nice to see them again too. We then walked through the mall to the Legacy Fountain. Shane, Tammy and Talmadge played in the fountain. It was fun to watch.

We went to Tammy's in Morgan where I got settled in for my visit. I loved helping Tammy with the children etc. It was great talking with Tammy and Cameron again as well.

On Wednesday, June 10th after Tammy tied up some loose ends with her at home mortgage work. Shane came over. Cameron, Tammy, Talmadge and Mia went in their car to Ogden and I went with Shane. We stopped by to pick up Kevin in Riverdale. Bryan was in SLC taking classes at the SLC Community College.

Shane took us on a tour of Ogden, showing me the new downtown mall. I forgot what it is called. He drove past our previous residences and his grandparents last home. It was very interesting. My old street I grew up living on from 1960-1974 is very run down and just the next block over to the north the street is about the same as it was when we lived there when Shane was born thirty year ago.

We then met Tammy, Cameron and family at the grocery store. From there we went to Chuck A Rama to eat. I enjoyed it a lot.

Thursday, June 11th we had a quiet day at Tammy and Cameron's home in Morgan. Tammy took me with herself, Talmadge and Mia to Talmadge's tumbling class not far from their apartment. It was exciting to watch him do cart-wheels, somersaults and back bends.

Later that morning I took Talmadge to the park just behind their apt. He went straight for the swing and asked me to do "underdog". It took me a moment to figure out that that meant push him and go under him while doing it. We did that for over 30 minutes I'd say. It was invigorating.

I believe it was this day that we watched the "Madagascar" DVD there at the apt. It's a nice movie.

By now Talmadge had sung the ABC Song, counted to ten and spelled his name for me. He can also read little story pages. He is a smart little guy.

On Friday, June 12th Cameron took Tammy, Talmadge, Mia and myself to the Hogle Zoo. We drove the scenic mountain route past Little Dell Reservoir and through Immigration Canyon. We saw lots of bicycle riders along the way.

At the zoo we saw the animals of coarse. We toured the special Madagascar exhibit. We took ing one of the "World of Flight Bird Shows". Cameron, Talmadge and I rode the little train around where we saw buffalo, the play ground, a mock pioneer wagon train of three wagons and a Boot Hill. It was all good.

After we were done at the zoo Cameron took us to "The Lone Star Restaurants" in Centerville. It was a nice place.

Saturday, June 13th we went to a Mudrow Family Reunion at the Morgan Stake House Grounds. I didn't take my camera to it. I wish now that I would have. I saw Chris Orr my nephew whom I hadn't seen in a lot of years. and I met his fiance Ashley. I saw Wendy (maiden name Mudrow) a lovely niece and her sweet mom Eva. Renate my former sister-in-law was there too. It was nice to talk with her again. I talked with her daughter Misti on the phone. I loved that. Bryan, Kevin, Shane, Natalie, Tammy, Mia, Talmadge all were there. I enjoyed the reunion very much.

After the reunion we went back over to Tammy's for hot dogs etc. Kevin had to leave early to go to work. Jason didn't get off work until later then he, Noi, Drake and Perresa came. I love having so many of my children all together.

Sunday, June 14th Cameron took Tammy, Talmadge, Mia and Me to West Jordan to see Jeremy, Raysha, Devan, Daric and Ethan. It was nice meeting Ethan and seeing the other members of his family again.

After visiting with Jeremy and family we went to WVC to the Golden Corral to meet up with Jason, Noi, Drake and Perresa. After eating at the Golden Corral we went a few blocks from there to Jason's apartment. There with looked a photo albums and played Jenga. We had a very enjoyable time.

On Monday, June 15th I had lunch with Rand and Vera at a local restaurant. Vera and I have been friends since we were 5 years old, over 55 years now. It was nice of Rand to drive up to Morgan from Ogden so Vera and I could visit. We all three had a nice time.

Talmadge and I took a nice walk by the river. Later on in the evening Tammy, Mia, Talmadge and I walked to Cameron's grandma Sommer's. It was pleasant visiting with her.

Next it was Tuesday, June 16th. We spent the morning in Morgan. Tammy had mortgage work to do. In the afternoon Tammy took Mia, Talmadge and me to Smith and Edwards sporting goods store to buy Talmadge a little fishing pole and for me to find something for my friend Ariela.

We then met Cameron at Farr's Ice Cream. Ice Cream cones or bowls for all of us my treat. I used to work at Farr's from 1968-1971. I worked in the plant where we packaged ice cream, cake rolls, ice cream sandwiches and popcycles. Fun times they were. I loved that job.

We all enjoyed our ice cream, eating it outside under the table's umbrella. It was sunny and nice. The first week Tues.-Sun. it was cool and rainy. It was 20 degrees below average temperatures. But Friday when we went to the zoo and this Tues 6/16 it was nice, warmer and sunny.

On Wednesday, June 17th we got up got ready to go to North Salt Lake City to see Shane and Natalie's home being built. The framing was up and some of the windows were in. I am excited for them. I remember when Hans and I watched our home in Rancho Cumcamonga being built in 1976-77.

After seeing the house and visiting with Shane a bit we went on to the airport. I got there in plenty of time for my 1:45 PM flight to KCI. I was at the airport at about 11:30 AM. I met a nice lady whose grandparents came over from Northern Italy to USA. Her name was Cici. It passed the time quickly talking with her.

Arrived at KCI at about 5:05 about 10 or more minutes ahead of schedule. I met Jess in front of the Delta building at the passenger pick-up area. I was so excited to see the Burgundy Mercedes and my honey dressed in blue and all shaved for me.

I had an awesome trip and plan to go once a year to keep up on things there and to see loved ones. It is also very good to be home with my beloved.
