My 60 years young birthday!!

Ariela, LaKai & Heather looking through 1994-95 photo album. LaKai loved seeing her mommy as a young girl.

Jess & I enjoying the nice meal he made.

Bubbly LaKai with fruit salad that Ariela brought.

Heather watching LaKai's expressions of which she has many. It was so awesome watching and listening to her.

LaKai doing the eye stare with her mommy. It's an "I see moment".

My birthday fell on a Monday this year so we celebrated with a pre-birthday dinner on Sunday April 6th. We held it at our North Kansas City home. Jess barbecued steak, made mashed potatoes, cheese sauce and heated some asparagus. At the dinner were Jess, James, Heather, LaKai, our good neighbor/friend Ariela and myself.
I had a blast visiting with Heather and Ariela. It was great fun interacting with LaKai. She is such a smart little ball of energy. She is a super imitator. The pictures here are of the birthday celebration fun.
I appreciate all the awesome cooking Jess did for the event. He is my hero in many ways.

Spring Yippee!!!

I love spring in part because my birthday is April 7. Spring is a time of freshness and new life. I am amazed when I watch the dull, brown, tired looking Earth transform into awesome brilliance of color. The greens of the grasses, scrubs, trees and other foliage seem to brighten each day. The vibrant hues of trees blossoms, tulips, daffodils and other early bloomers radiate happiness. I hope you enjoy these images of spring. I sure love them.

Front of the house above. Back yard in left picture. The grass looks so good. It resembles a lush carpet.

This is the shed that Jess built last summer. It was his first. He did a great job on it I think.

I went for a little walk on April 26, 2008 in our neighborhood and took some pictures of spring. Above are pictured the fragrant lilac and the common dandelion.

Above are some awesome prints of trees in bloom.

I took these pictures of some irises and a crepe myrtle plant. Crepe myrtle is a cousin to the lilac.

Macken Park is not far from our home. I love to walk there.

Again we have an iris. These tulips were just adorable. I had to get a picture of them.
