The Campout June 28-29!

On Saturday evening June 28th Jess and I started out on our camping adventure. We chose to go to the Watkin's Mill State Park near Lawson, MO about 30 minutes from our house. This camp out would be the beginning of Jess's weeks long vacation.
We camped at space 93 at the beautiful, well kept campgrounds. We were excited to finally spend the night in the camper of Buffalo Bob after having the truck for 7 years.
The night of the 28th we heated some soup on out camp stove for supper. We delighted in watching the amazing fireflies which were numerous. Neither of us had seen so many fireflies at one time.
I slept fairly well. I loved having a Porta-pottie in the camper. It was so nice not to have to walk five minutes to get to the campsite rest rooms whenever I needed to go.
Jess fixed breakfast of cantaloupe an bananas. Two squirrels decided to make an appearance. It was fun watching them scamper around. Jess threw them a slice of cantaloupe but they didn't eat it.
We then sat in our camp chairs. I drew Jess a card as I looked to the wonderful nature we were surrounded by for inspiration. Jess read a sci fi book. While sitting under the shade of the tall campground trees an unusual looking Caterpillar fell from the tree and landed on Jess's ankle. I put it back on the tree and it went on it's merry way.
We went on a small nature walk around the campsite and discovered a rare looking black and white stripped butterfly. Jess took an excellent photo of it.
After leaving the campgrounds Jess and I ate at the KFC in Excelsior Sprs. ending a very nice camping experience.
