Shelter where DCARC, Douglas County Amateur Radio Club has had many Field Day events over the years..
Looking toward the city of Lawrence. Home Depot and K U Campus on the right side of photo taken on the highest platform of the tower.
More country side scenery
On Sunday June 5th Jess and I went to at DCARC meeting at Wells Overtook. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss June 25-26 field day. I love looking out over the Lawrence area from the tower. It is just so beautiful. I fondly remember going to pot luck dinners as part of Field Days other years. Field Day is where Hams get together to see how many contacts they can get on the radio. It involves setting up towers and trying not to interfere with the electronics of any of the residence living close to Wells Overlook. The weather was spectacular on the 5th.
I LOVE LIVING IN THE MID-WEST!!!
