Our Dala Horse!!

Our Swedish Dala Horse
Valkommen means Welcome http://lexin2.nada.kth.se/cgi-bin/swe-eng

Our Dala Horse came to live with us at Christmas time 2008 when Jess's sister Mary gave it to him. What a unique and lovely gift. Dala greets all who come to visit us as he hangs on the awning that shelters our front step.
There's quite a lot of information about the Dala Horse on the Internet. Here is a link to what Wikipedia has to say about them: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dalecarlian_horse
Thank you so much for the Dala Mary.

The Great Outdoors!!

A bloom on a Magnolia Tree in our neighborhood.

Blooming cactus in a neighbors yard.

Lovely purple flowers in another neighbors yard.

Sorry about the blurriness in this photo of a flowering vine enclosing a neighbors mail box.

Our wind-chime that I painted red yesterday.

As I have mentioned numerous times I love to take walks. The nature that I experience is so fascinating it keeps me coming back for more. As I was exploring the neighborhood today I saw the cactus blooming and knew that I wanted to take a photo of it. Later on my walk I noticed that the great Magnolia Tree I love to look at was in bloom. I wanted to share the fun with all of you. I added a few more photos of interesting plants and one photo of a project of mine aka the wind-chimes.
Please enjoy where you live and the positive characteristics of it.

Windy April!!

An Octopus Kite Flown 4 11 2009 at Macken Park, NKC, MO

Looking like some large bug in the sky this huge Octopus Kite captured my attention. I was fascinated by it. I hoped it would still be flying as I walked the 1 mile oval path at Macken Park, as I walked home, grabbed my camera, hopped in the car and drove back to the park. Yes, indeed it was still waving in the April sky. I then took the photos shown above.
